Hey there! I’m Leigh Cross.
The best way to describe myself is someone who chases curiosities wherever they may hide - whether that’s under a microscope slide, in a graphite line, or behind a camera lens. My portfolio ranges from traditional sketches and watercolor to close-up microscopy prints and field photography taken along Texas greenbelts such as Westcave Preserve and Purgatory Creek.
I was the kid who doodled in the margins of my lab notebook, and never really quit. Years spent studying Microbiology and Electrical Engineering trained my eye for fine detail, while hiking taught me to frame the bigger picture. Today I blend those habits into artwork that celebrates the patterns and beauty of nature -  be it limestone strata, neurons stretched across a web, or sweeping arches of bone. When I’m not sketching or soldering, you’ll find me scuba diving, or trying (again) to keep paint off the dogs.
Prints, originals, and the occasional odd commission are available through my Etsy shop (see the menu) or by dropping me a line on Instagram - links up above.
